Monkey Boy

Monkey Boy... is the name we gave to the blow-up monkey that Tom won for Charlotte at the carnival tonight! Char has 2 other toys also named Monkey Boy. I guess I'm not too creative when it comes to naming monkey toys!

So Char's 1st carnival was a great success. She was really excited to see so many people. It was mobbed. A band was playing, and she LOVED the music. I LOVED the food. I'm sure you're shocked. I had a hot dog... and cheese fries... a lemonade... and a caramel apple with peanuts. On our way home, I decided what I'll get when we go again on Thursday night... probably a cheeseburger, another lemonade (I'm on a lemonade kick)... and definitely a funnel cake... oh, and maybe some cotton candy. YUMM... YUMM... YUMM!

Here are a couple pics of me and Char on the merry go round...

Retro or Ridiculous?

I'm looking for a more casual dress for a more casual wedding we're going to this Friday night. I picked up this dress today at Target ($20 on the clearance rack). I'm just not sure if it's retro or if it's just plain ridiculous.

I have these Nine West silver heels that I really want to wear...

Thoughts? Opinions? Anyone?

White Weddings & White Legs

Saturday we had a wedding to go to... the bride's parents have been friends with my husband's family for years. I love going to weddings, because I love having an excuse to get dressed up. For this wedding, I had a few options... I had a blue/green floral chiffon Ann Taylor dress from last year that I could wear with gold sandals, but I wanted to get something new (this is usually the case with me). I first picked up a royal blue Calvin Klein number and found some really "edgy" Nine West silver heels to pair with it. However, at the last minute, on Friday, I felt like the cut of the dress was too boring. So my Mom, Charlotte, and I ran over to the mall. We had to walk through JC Penney's to get to the actual mall, and my Mom suggests to me that I should look there. I've never bought anything from Penney's... well, that's a little lie... I did buy a couple pair of materntiy shorts... but that's it :)

So, anyways, lo and behold they have a TON of dresses.... I grabbed about 5 to try on in 15 minutes, and the last one I tried on was actually really cute! I ended up wearing it.... So, my lesson learned is never to underestimate JC Penney's! Here are a couple pics of the dress.

My 2nd lesson learned is that I need to do something about my hideous pale legs... running... tinted lotion... something!

We have another wedding to go to this Friday night. The couple got married a few weeks ago in Jamaica, and this will be a more casual reception for family & friends now that they're back home. The big question of the week will be do I wear my "new" JC Penney number or do I buy something new??

Weekend Recap

The Felix Family had a busy holiday weekend.... On Saturday, we went to a cookout at my uncle's house in Chester Springs. We had fun spending time with relatives, and Charlotte had fun just relaxing on her little picnic blanket in their yard. On Sunday, we went to church and then headed to another cookout at my brother & sister-in-law's house. Char got to go swimming with her cousins, MaryJo & Emma. Today, we were up early for a neighborhood parade. It was a busy weekend, but it was so nice spending so much time with friends and family. We're bummed that Dad has to go back to work tomorrow... it was so nice having him home for 1 extra day this weekend!

On our way to cookout #1 (I thought we were wearing the same shade of green, but I guess not! I also think my arm looks giant in this picture... yuck!)

Char & the City

We had an awesome day downtown on Friday. We visited my sister's office, where we met a TON of my sister's co-workers who went crazy over Char. We then headed down to Logan's Square to sit by the fountain and have lunch. Char was snoozing for a bit, but when she woke up, she was just amazed by the fountain. My Mom even took her into the fountain and dipped her little piggies. We then made a quick trip to the Cathedral, so Charlotte could see where her Mommy & Daddy got married. I haven't been back since our wedding in 2006, and, every time I walk into the Cathedral, I get goosebumps. It's so beautiful, it gives me chills. If you haven't been, you should go! We're already planning our next trip so we can hit more downtown spots like Rittenhouse and Reading Terminal. Char wants to see everything!

It's a Beautiful Day

Don't let it get away! The weather's so nice here that we tried to spend most of the day outside, just relaxing... singing songs and, as usual, watching our crazy puppy. Charlotte's 1st tooth finally broke through, so that was the excitement for the day. We're looking forward to taking a trip downtown tomorrow to visit my sister!

I Heart Costco

I think I'm addicted to Costco. I had to make a special trip because I "heard" online that Costco had Hanna Andersson (www.HannaAndersson.com) organic pjs for baby. I picked up 2 pairs, because Charlotte doesn't really need any more clothes this very minute, but I bought 2 pairs in the next size up... 1, because they're ridiculously cute... and 2, because they were only $12 (normally $25). I may have also purchased 1 hot dog & 1 churro... also because I just can't help myself. Good thing it's not raining today, so I can try and walk the churro off.
